Digital reproductions of Leonardo da Vinci’s paintings exhibition Algiers 2019

An exhibition of digital reproductions of the most famous paintings of the famous Italian painter Leonardo da Vinci, opened Thursday, in Algiers, to the public.

Hosted at the Palace of Culture Moufdi-Zakaria, the exhibition “Leonardo Opera Omnia”, includes 17 digital reproductions of the masterpieces of one of the most famous painters in the world, died 5 centuries ago.

Among the exhibited works, the visitor can contemplate the copy of the most famous painting in the world “The Mona Lisa” also called “Portrait of Mona Lisa”, a painting that always fascinates, now preserved in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Other paintings (certified) of the painter such as; “The virgin with the rocks”, “The virgin, the Child Jesus and Saint Anne”, “The beautiful ferronnière”, Madonna with the child (Madam with the carnation) or still “The Cenacle”, a mural completed in 1498, are part of the selection that traces, in part, the career of this artist of the Renaissance.

The curator of the exhibition, Luca Gismondi, notes that the event allows the Algerian public to see Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous paintings with high-definition digital reproductions of the same size as the originals and use ” clever “lights.

Organized by Antonio Paolucci, an internationally renowned expert on art, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Algeria, the exhibition marks the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci (1519-2019).

Artists and figures from the art world as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria, including the Italian ambassador, Pasquale Ferra, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

“Leonardo Opera Omnia” is visible until October 18th.
